Awareness Programme Handicraft Artisan

Design-making has a unique thing; it cannot tamper into any creator’s mind or change his/her vision, it cannot create any sort of impact on his/her pure aesthetic idea for developing any sort of product for the market. Many notions are heard regarding the handicrafts being related to the primitive or backward times and machine-made goods to the modern times impacted from certain sections, these have to countered and clarified.

Every artisan should be thoroughly involved in market research, design, production, costing and should change their methods and designs according to the changing environment. With changing time we need more artists to understand and study the crafts, products and markets as they need artisans with skill and want to reach them directly without any exploitative middle man. Many people due to the hard work consumed in handicrafts jumped to short term gains by making cheap crafts through modern technology, this also made a cheap product which was easily sold.
